Mattingley

Dear Mattingley Families and Friends,

As we are constantly encouraging the children to make meaningful marks as they explore the concept of writing we are also supporting their fine motor skills. We have noticed that despite the presence of paintbrushes many of the children enjoy using their hands and fingers when painting. We embraced this and removed the paint brushes encouraging the children to use their hands, fingers and other tools to create their artwork.

We have also had a very exciting week leading up to Sports Day on Friday. We talked about the importance of keeping our bodies hydrated, having a go and encouraging our friends.

Miss Ruggiero -  Why do we need to drink water when we exercise?
Clementine – We get hot then we drink some water

Miss Ruggiero - How do we feel if we don’t drink enough water?
Angus – Yuck
Harry - Tired

After the fun filled morning we sat down and reflected on what our favourite parts of the day were.

Ethan – The tunnel
Kaeshav – The whole day
Lachlan – I liked the bit with the parrot chute
Ben – Running! I love it

Thanks to all the parents who came and helped and supported the Mattingley class on Thursday.

I will be on holidays for the next two weeks. Liana and Emma Gray have a lot of fun activities planned for the holiday time.

Have a lovely long weekend,

Cass and Emma
