Angwin

Dear Families,

The Angwin children have continued to challenge and extend themselves in their thinking this week.

We have been exploring the concept of “team work” looking at ways we can all work together to build our team. As we get closer to Sports Day we will explore this idea more and unpack what it might look like on the day.

Felix: Team work is lots of people working together

Leo: It is when we set out on a group together

Daniel B: It is when a group is playing together

Lochlann: When we don’t work together and we leave things messy we are not a good team

At the moment we have been talking about what it means when we help to listen on the mat, when we help to pack up the classroom at the end of our morning or afternoon sessions, how we look after and value each other’s work.

The children have been thinking about how “many hands make light work” rather than only some taking responsibility.

As the children get closer to next term, they will all begin their transition programmes for starting school. These self-help skills and responsibilities will help them prepare for what is ahead. They are skills for life.

It is valuable to be thinking about how this can be explored at home too. It might be as simple as putting their own clothes on each morning or putting their dirty clothes into the laundry basket, tidying their toys, setting the table for tea. All these jobs help our families work as a team. We would love to hear about ways you are working on this with your children.

This week we have welcomed back Mrs Rocca from her practicum teaching. The children were keen to share all that we have been exploring and how much they have grown in the time she has been away! Mrs Rocca will enjoy a well earnt holiday next week before returning in Week 10. Miss Emma Gray will be assisting in Angwin next week.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Kind Regards,

Pip and Coney
