Despite a short week, the children have managed to still
pack in plenty of activities.
The new pizza restaurant has proved very popular and
been a great stimulus for our numeracy. The children have painted their own
pizza- draw a circle freehand and adding a double-digit topping!
We have continued to encourage
the children to develop their one to one counting skills, particularly into the
tricky teens.
The obstacle course in PE was
an opportunity for the children to continue their work towards the development
milestone of balance.
As part of our Keeping Safe
Curriculum, we read the book "There’s a hippo on the roof eating cake" by Hazel
Edwards. We discussed risky behaviour such as should the hippo by riding his
bike on the roof?
Charlie: He might hurt himself.
Ronnie: He needs to ride on the path.
Houyi: On a bike track.
We have also been working on prediction skills in
literacy and it has been great to see the children sharing their interest in
books with each other.
We completed our Dancify
classes with the children keen to show their moves, particularly when their
brave parents joined in.
Just a reminder that the
children have Show and Tell each week. They love their chance to be the centre
of attention and it is really useful for the other children to practise their
listening and questioning skills.
