Chapple

Our continued interest in bones has led to the development of an Emergency Department within the Chapple Room. The children are becoming great doctors and love to try and work out what is wrong with each other. It’s usually something serious, but everyone gets better in the end!

The Bones dance proved very catchy.

We also thought about why we have bones.

Max: So we don’t go flat
Ronnie: Keep your brain in your head
Will: Your heart needs protecting in your ribs

We have been working on emotions and how we know how other people are feeling. We read "the Bad Mood and The Stick." The children then had a go at role playing someone in a bad mood and working out ways to cheer them up. They loved putting on their best cranky faces.

We have continued our investigation into water and we looked at how salt disappeared . Cody remembered that we use salt in pools. "It makes chlorine to have no algae, clean and blue. When you put chemicals in you can’t swim for a while."

Chapple Construction has taken off and the children worked eagerly to put together the new dolls house. They also took turns in using the camera to document their progress.

Just a reminder that the children have Show and Tell each week. They love their chance to be the centre of attention and it is really useful for the other children to practise their listening and questioning skills.
