Chapple

Dear Chapple families

Welcome back to Term 2. It was great to see all the hard work the children and staff had done during the break. I was really proud of the ANZAC work and the beautiful poppies.

Although some of us are feeling a bit “tyred” we have charged on with our inquiry this week.

Watching Mrs Kaur work the electric pencil sharper got some of the children thinking- “How does that work?” I am sure that is a topic we will continue with this term.

We have read a book called Wave. It had no words and we had to work out the story from the pictures and particularly by trying to read the emotions of the little girl's face. We have continued to look at how do we know what someone is feeling and have practised several different facial expressions.

Then on Thursday- “May the four be with you!” A stormtrooper came in to launch our topic on forces. Jack and Sienna demonstrated push and pull and we experimented with the force of magnetism.

As the weather is a bit up and down at the moment, can you please ensure that the children have a named long shelved school uniform top. They can also bring in named gum boots to change into if they wish to have some wet play.

Don’t forget to check out our program wall as it shows a more detailed map of the activities the children have been doing.
