Mattingley

Dear Mattingley families and friends,

To celebrate Shrove Tuesday, the beginning of Lent, the Mattingley children made pancakes together. Together we then read through the recipe to see what ingredients we needed before gathering them, measuring them, cracking them and mixing them together. As we passed the bowl around the table we all had a turn stirring before Mrs Mason cooked them on the bbq. The children had to wait very patiently for them to be ready, watching carefully as they sizzled away on the bbq. Finally the best part, we got to eat them!

This week the children set up a nursery in our classroom home corner where they were able to take care of all the baby dolls that had made their way into our classroom. It was lovely watching the children take such special care of their babies.

Later in the week we could hear a rumbling in our classroom that came from outside of the ELC. On Friday our friend Levi had a great idea. He wanted to see if we could find the race cars that were making the loud rumbling noises we had been hearing. Armed with our camera and our hats we made our way to the Rainbow Playground in the reception yard. From the very top of the climbing equipment, if you watched very carefully you could see a glimpse of the cars as they spend around the race track. There was lots of excitement as the children observed what was happening on the race track.

We hear racing cars! I see a red one- Levi
