Mattingley

Dear Mattingley families and friends,

This week the children  have been investigating Chinese New Year and how it is celebrated. As part of this celebration we had three year 10 International Students from the Middle School as well as some of our ELC Teachers preform a Lion chance for us. It was very loud, a little bit frighting and very exciting. The children were all very brave as they played music and fed it their red envelopes for good luck in the new year.

I give the orange- Kaeshav

They were funny- Clementine

It’s just a costume- Emma

It was a friendly lion- Sarina

I saw him flying up in the sky- Anthony

I feed the dragon the card- Kaeshav

And yellow- Claudia

It was red- Hridhaan

It’s good. I give it lots of things. Packets. Because I like him. So you get good luck for brining in the new year- Didier

It danced- Ben

It was a bit loud- Lachlan

It was bit scary- Elsa

Too scary. But bit funny to- Riani

To continue the celebrations the children created art work to represent the fire works Wenting shared with us in her Chinese New Year video. They are beautiful mixed media collages and can be found on display in our classroom.
