Cooper

Hi Cooper families,

Welcome back to the school term Cooper room families. It has been lovely seeing all of the children again after the long Christmas break.

The Cooper class has been busy creating the fire truck in our classroom. We painted the base colour of the panels that will be placed on the sides of the truck – they were of course RED! We also decided as a group that we would need:
Blue and red nee naws – Toby
Yellow lines – Karl
Wheels, black – Olivia
Ladder – Sebastian B
We have gone on lots of adventures around the Cooper room saving lives and putting out the fires.

The Cooper children have been so kind and caring to the new baby dolls that are in our classroom.
·         We have been wrapping the babies up in blankets “so that they don’t get cold.” – Ned
·         feeding them “so they are not hungry anymore” – Lotti
·         putting them to “sleep when they are tired” Lotti
The children are role playing what they have observed of how people care and interact with babies. The children demonstrated their care, empathy and respect for others through these socio-dramatic play scenarios.

We have started our yoga in the classroom on Tuesday and Thursday with Miss C. In our yoga sessions this week Miss C spoke to us about what yoga was, we practiced some of the poses and then we had some quiet relaxation time which them flowed through to our rest or sleep time. The children were keen to try their new yoga moves, bending and stretching their bodies into the different poses. Miss C was very impressed with the way the children used their muscles to hold each of the poses that she was demonstrating.

Love Miss Gilbert and Mr Richards
