Cooper

Hello Cooper Room Family and Friends!

The children have had an exciting week consisting of indoor and outdoor experiences. These experiences have included box construction, imaginary play, reading picture books, painting, show and tell, writing, playing group games, and using the Mobilo.

We particularly enjoyed observing the children as they let their creativity run wild on the box construction table. Here are a few quick samples of some of the learning which has taken place as a result of this activity:
  • ‘It’s fish, in the water! 1, 2, and 3!’ said Ed, as he was showing Mr Richards the ocean he had made. In doing this, Ed demonstrated his increasing confidence and his strengthening numeracy skills.
  • As Giuliana created her dragon, she paused and stated ‘I can’t put this bit on it… I need more glue!’ In doing this, Giuliana demonstrated her ability to actively and independently problem solve.
  • ‘It’s a boat, with a block on it, and when you press the block, it’ll turn into a bear!’ exclaimed Emilia. In doing this, Emilia demonstrated her skills in creativity.
The interests of our Cooper children are constantly evolving, and as teachers we aim to build our programs based on the ideas which the children present. We have recently created a nature-based home corner space, as the children were demonstrating a strong interest in the natural environment and imaginary cooking. We look forward to seeing the children engage with this new and exciting learning space over the upcoming weeks.

Thanks again for your time,

Miss Gilbert and Mr Richards
