10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!
Inspired by many
children’s interest in space and planets recently, we have created a Wilkins
space station for the children to explore. The children have been
exploring space, role playing, star gazing and sharing their knowledge and
understandings. This has also been a hive of social activity with the children
engaging with each other in small group play. At this age, many children are
learning how to initiate and sustain purposeful interactions with their peers
so we have been providing lots of small group social play opportunities for the
children.
The children’s interest in story telling has continued
this week. We have been sharing stories and retelling our own versions of
familiar tales as well as using puppets to re-enact story lines. Ask your child
to share the story of The Watermelon Seed with you - it’s a funny favourite at
the moment!
We have also been sharing and enjoying looking at our portfolios
this week. Please feel free to take a look at your child’s treasured portfolio
if you get an opportunity at drop off or pick up.
We have also continued our
dance and rainbow explorations, role played in the home corner, created using
woodwork materials and built and constructed in the block area.
Please remember to bring in your child’s PAC ELC hat next
week - hopefully we will have some warmer weather very soon!
