Hi Cooper families,
Our investigation into colours has continued enthusiastically this week. We have engaged in another playdough mixing experiment where the children started off with 2 blobs of playdough, one yellow and one red. As the children squeezed and squished the playdough they noticed that something had started to change! The playdough was not just red and yellow anymore, it had started to turn orange. Some of the children also made the same discovery on the painting easels this week when they mixed yellow and red paint together on their paper.
The outside sandpit has been a particularly popular experience
during our outdoor investigation time this term. During this experience, many
of the children have been keenly developing their knowledge and skills at
building sandcastles. This keen interest had led the Cooper room to having an
indoor sandpit. All week the children have been scooping, shoveling and
patting the sand to create their own mini sandcastles. through this experience
the children demonstrated their persistence as they used trial and error to
create their sandcastles. The children communicated their ideas and built upon
each other’s ideas as to how they thought a sandcastle should be built.
We will be having a Dancify
concert to show off the fancy dance moves that we have learnt over the
last few weeks. If you would like to attend this special performance, we will
be holding the concert in the Town
Square on the 21st of September at 11.00am. This is only for the children that attend ELC on a
Thursday, as that is the day that we have been learning the dances each week.
Hat season has commenced! Please remember to bring in a named PAC
hat for your child for next week.
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
Love Miss Gilbert and Miss C
