Langley

Dear Langley Families,

After noticing that many children were playing with the tambourines in class we placed some instruments in our classroom so the children can continue to create music as they wish. As a class, we have started to talk about what these instruments are made of, how we play them we are working together to agree on how we should treat them.

We then noticed some children jumping and dancing to the beats so we played some background music and added some streamers for the dancers of the group. This has been a hit in the afternoon outside in the sunshine.  If you have a hidden musical talent and would love to share this skill for our class, please come and visit and play for the children.  It would be fantastic!

To assist our little ones with fine their motor skills, we have started a threading craft activity.  Many children are participating in this craft and their threading piece is hanging in our wet area.  Just look UP!

Learning to thread is a great skill.  Not only is it fun and a challenge but it is directly linked to pre-literacy. For example improving pencil grip and precision in handwriting.  We have placed some puzzles on the shelves to further assist with this fine motor development.  Please fill free at drop off to sit and do a puzzle or threading together.

We have taken the lead from many of our budding artists and had the water paints and painting easel set up this term.  It has become quite a social act to paint alongside each other singing, chatting or laughing together. It has been fantastic to see our little Picasso’s flourish in creativity using all sorts of mediums in these play spaces.

Extra notes

Edwina (Winnie) Christo has lost her Minnie Mouse sleep/cuddle toy.  If you see it please return it to an Educator in the Centre.  Thank you

Enjoy your weekend!
