Mead

Dear Mead Room families and friends,

Welcome back to those families who were able to get away for the school holidays.  It is wonderful to see the joy expressed by the children when they catch sight of friends who have been absent for a week or two!

With the start of the week heralding warmer weather we spent some glorious mornings revelling in the outdoors.  The children are taking care of our ever growing chooks, ensuring they have food and clean water daily; Teddy – “it would not be nice to drink dirty water.”

We took our painting outdoors which provided a different aspect to being creative. We did have to contend with the elements…... sunshine and warm gusts of wind were a small challenge but we are ingenious and resourceful, so creatively speaking it was a success!!

Exploring the wider PAC grounds gave us the opportunity to visit the Chapel where we observed sunshine entering through the stain glass windows, casting different colours onto the carpet.  We noticed that the sun had warmed the glass and marvelled at the colours.

We are continuing with our Healthy and Sometimes food inquiry.  At the moment we are discussing breakfast choices and of course drinking lots of water in the warm weather.

We have been putting out fires in our dramatic play area:
Teddy – We need a phone, firemans need one to ring the fire station.
Scout – We’ve been firemen for hours.  We’d be putting out the fires.
Owen – Night time, night time.  We wake up when we see the flashing lights.
Jack – We got big muscles, we put it out with water.
Owen – Nee naw, nee naw.
Scout – I got my hat on and my fire hose.

We welcome our new friend Josh, and his family to the Mead Room.

Finally, our larger chooks discovered the joys of soccer and cuddles with friends.

Take care of each other,

Melissa and Georgia
