Mead

Dear Mead Families

On Tuesday we had two little visitors arrive in the Mead Room.
They each had a long body, black, white and yellow stripes and lots of little legs – we’re still trying to count them!

Patrick – They’re having a rest, oh look, they’re moving their legs!
Sienna – They turn into butterflies
Sam – They’re baby caterpillars
James – They crawl around
Jack – They eat food
Benjamin – They eat leaves
Alana – They have a little mouth
Paige – They have a sleep then they change
Ben –…. and then they just fly
They had lots of food to eat from a bush called the ‘Swan Bush’…. and they have eaten A LOT!
In the past few days they have changed into big, fat caterpillars.

We have been drawing what we see –
Liliana – I’m drawing the egg
Paige – I need to do his toes
Alana – That’s the egg crack
Sam – The caterpillar… I have to do a big line

We can hardly wait to see the next stage in the life cycle of the Monarch Butterfly.

Have a great weekend!
