Mead

Hello Mead families and friends,

We are pleased to see that the children are settling into their new indoor and outdoor environments. They have continued to build on relationships with their peers and educators; seeking assistance and guidance when needed.

This week has been jam packed with an array of experiences to further their learning development and broaden their understanding of the world in which we live in.

Monday was very exciting as we celebrated Chinese New Year. We had boys from the senior school perform a Chinese Lion dance for us. The children were very involved in this experience and used musical instruments to help make noise and scare away the bad luck. We then were able to touch the delicate costumes.

Shrove Tuesday consisted of us preparing our own pancake mixture and watching Mrs Prest as she cooked them for us. The best part was eating them!!!

Wednesday we mixed ingredients together to make play-doh, we have been manipulating the play-doh into different shapes and objects and using natural materials to further our creative and fine motor skills.

Thursday we had our Chinese lesson with Wenting , we discussed how we celebrated Chinese New Year at ELC. We also had the privilege to experience seeing a Monster Truck, the children really enjoyed this and were amazed by the size of the wheels on the truck.
Cooper explained with excitement that “Monster Trucks are big and they go up and down”.
Paige said ‘I like the big wheels” and Liliana said “WOW”.

Friday we had our P.E class in the prep school gym, this was a great way to further our movement and co-ordination skills as well as our gross motor skills.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Prest, Miss Elodie and Mrs Nacca
