Langley

Dear Langley families and friends,
What an amazing start to term 1! We have welcomed many new faces to the Langley room this week – a huge hello to Leopold, Lachlan, William. A, William. D, Rocco, Sebastian, Amy, Grace, Ned, Alannah, Mack, Emma and Phoebe. All our new friends are settling into the room really well, forming relationships with their educators and are happy to explore their new play spaces.
We have been experimenting with motion with the cars and wooden blocks as ramps. Children have enjoyed letting different sized cars and trains roll down tubes, pipes, ramps and even the mirror to see how fast they can go.
Decan – “Let’s put the car down the blocks, broom!”
James – “My car goes down the ramps”
We have also been discussing mountains and in particular volcanos. Children viewed videos online of erupting volcanos and were fascinated, so we created our very own in the sandpit on Friday with bi-carb soda and vinegar (a very easy experiment you could do with your children at home)
Keashav – “The mountain break…..Bang it hot lava…..Tano (volcano)”
Isaac. B – “Fire hot”
On Monday our International Students will be performing a traditional lion dance to celebrate Chinese New Year - come dressed in your special New Year outfit or in something red.
Enjoy the weekend
