Angwin

Dear Angwin Families

Lily, Gabby and Miles were intrigued by the giant ginger bread house entrance to the Chapple Room. They asked the teacher if they could make one for their room. The teacher asked why the children thought Chapple had made the ginger bread entrance. Here is how our entrance became a stable.

‘Because it’s Christmas.’ Miles.

‘We are learning about Mary and Jesus.’ Gabby

‘Why don’t we make our classroom into a stable, like in the one in the Nativity?’ asked the teacher.

The children were excited and asked to start making it right away.

‘We need paint, paper, yellow, hay, animals, decorations…..’ they all contributed.

‘We need a door.’ Miles

‘Jesus was born on Christmas Day.’ Harry A

‘Jesus was born in the stable.’ Miles

‘The shepherds came to see baby Jesus after they look after the sheep.’ Keziah

‘Everyone gave Jesus presents.’ Lily

‘Gold, smell stuff……’ Miles

‘Frankincense.’ Gabby

‘A king came to see Jesus.’ Patrick

‘If we’re going to make a stable we need lots of animals and wood. And you need to be careful you don’t get splinters.’ Harry P

‘We need a donkey. Maybe somebody could be a donkey.’ Patrick

‘We need a horse because there’s animals in the stable.’ Lily

‘We need Jesus and God. We could get some fabric and pipe cleaners and we could use a texta for their face and we could use a cardboard role to make the body.’ Harry P

We have made a beautiful stable, complete with animals, hay and baby Jesus. The children have costumes they can use for dramatic play and they are having a wonderful time exploring the story of Christmas. We have sent home the roles and costume slips for the concert. Please let us know if you have any questions. If your child has a speaking role, please practise their lines with them! We can’t wait to show you our concert! Have a lovely weekend.
