Mead

Week 2 has been a super hot week so we have been engaging in outdoor water play in the mornings before the temperature sky rockets. The water fountain has been a big hit with the children, they have been gathering water, following it down the stream and covering themselves in gloriously gooey mud! Please make sure you place several changes of clothes, including underwear, in your child’s bag even if they are fully toilet trained as we do engage in messy play on a regular basis.

Following on from some children’s investigations from last year, we have been using sunflowers as inspiration for our painting at the easel, creating beautiful masterpieces.

Resulting from Tarika’s return from her holiday in Singapore and India, we have been exploring our world map and globe, identifying where we live and where some people have travelled to. If you have any relatives living overseas or have recently been on a holiday, we’d love to hear about it so we can include this in our conversations.

The children have also been exploring the new climbing and obstacle challenges in the big yard, playing group games during morning meetings, role playing in the home corner, writing letters and cards at our drawing table and manipulating play dough into different shapes.

Best wishes for the weekend,

Coney and Jess
