Edgerley

Hello Edgerley Families and Friends.

The children and staff alike have had a fun-filled time as we have wrapped up our final week of the holiday program for 2017. We have enjoyed engaging in activities such as moulding reindeer with chocolate scented playdough, building rivers and dams at the Rainbow Playground, participating in Christmas Kareoke, and challenging ourselves with different cup-stacking challenges.

It was great to see a large portion of the children express a particularly keen interest in the fake snow that we created on Tuesday morning. This activity was supposed to take place during our Tuesday morning session, but the sustained interest and appreciation demonstrated by the children caused the activity to continue throughout the entire week! Here are a few samples of the children engaging with this activity…

This is like the North Pole – Oliver
Dig, dig, dig at the snow – Samuel
The person is getting buried by the snow… It looks like a big, bubbly washing machine – Karl
Look at my big pile of snow – Aaron
Push the digger, just like the real snow – Yash
The penguins and the birds are playing in the snow – Ed
It feels fluffy, like a fox – Sebastian A
The car has big wheels so it can drive in the snow – Stirling

If you would like to create some fake snow of your own throughout the holiday period, the recipe can be found by clicking on the following link: https://playtivities.com/how-to-make-snow/
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our children, friends, and families for an incredible 2017. It has been an absolute pleasure working with all of you, and we would like to wish you all a joyful Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. We look forward to seeing you when the early learning centre re-opens on the week of Monday the 8th of January 2018.

Much love,
Mr Richards and Miss Gray
