Angwin

Dear Angwin families and friends,

What an incredible 2017 has been for our Angwin friends.

The year is drawing to a close and the children had the opportunity to wrap it up with their peers doing so many exciting activities this week.

They thoroughly enjoyed harvesting our grown garlic on Monday. Lots of pulling and digging was involved in the process and we are so glad that they were just ready before we take our Christmas break.

The children also enjoyed exploring a form of art called 'paint marbling' using a dirty cup flow paint strategy with Ms Kerry on Tuesday, which led to the creation of amazing masterpieces.

If you have seen the presence of lego in the room you know that means loads of fun for our little people well engaged in their creativity and imagination.

On Friday, we made some refreshing lemonade using some mint from our garden. It was indeed tricky to work the lemon squeezers but a little bit of body twisting did the trick. It gave us a fresh taste of summer.

The garlic we harvested was put to great use. We pounded them using a mortar and pestle, mixed in some basil and oregano from Mrs Rocca’s home garden, a dash of salt and a good splash of olive oil and we had ourselves some pesto for our garlic mini pizzas. You can’t go more organic than home grown food. The garden work we’ve done with Mrs Cooper this year has been an effective way for children to connect to their natural world, impacting their lives as future stewards of our planet. And that’s the year wrapped up!

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for this wonderful year. I’ve been blessed to see the growth in your children the last two years, and that has been strengthened  even more with the trust and confidence you have shown.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and an epic 2018!

Mrs Rocca
