Wilkins

Dear Wilkins families,

We have been creating lots of small group play experiences for the children to engage in this week, allowing them to explore and practice their social skills such as negotiating and sharing.

Around the light box, the children have been identifying colours together and sorting the range of different objects.

At the light table, we have been matching objects form one of our favourite books as well as extending this further by matching letters of the alphabet.

Inspired by Sammy’s talk about the Eiffel Tower, we have added some pictures of famous buildings to our block area. We have since seen replicas of Big Ben, the Eiffel Tower and the Pyramids. What knowledgeable, worldly little people we have in our classroom.

Developing our gross motor coordination and movement, we have been practicing our jumping off planks of different heights during the week. This is a wonderful, easy thing to do at home and when you are out and about as well and the children love flying through the air!

Big Boys Breakfast invitations and surveys have been placed in lockers this week, please make sure you grab yours and return asap. We also have our Book Week celebrations coming up in a couple of weeks, our dress up day will be held on Thursday 24th August.

Best wishes for the weekend,

Ellen, Courtenay, Melissa and Jess
