Wilkins

Dear Wilkins families and friends,

What a hive of activity we have had in the Wilkins room this week!

Children have been developing and practicing their small group social skills in the train corner this week as they build tracks together and negotiate and share resources.

We have been sharing some of our favourite story books in large and small groups in our lead up to Book Week in Week 5, our particular favourites have been the Wheels on the Bus and The Watermelon Seed by Greg Pizzoli. If your child has a particular story that they enjoy reading at home, please let us know so we can share it with the rest of the class.

We have also started our preparations for our Big Boys Breakfast which will be held on Thursday 31st August to celebrate Father’s Days and the other important ‘Big Boys’ in our children’s lives. Stay tuned for more details to come next week.

The children have also engaged in pretend play, cooking in the sandpit and creating at the play dough table. They have also investigated colour identification and matching whilst developing fine motor control at the light box, role played as builders as they construct in the block corner and expressed themselves creatively using recycled materials at the collage table. We look forward to building on and extending these investigations in the coming weeks.

Best wishes and stay warm!
