Cooper

Hi Cooper families,

On Monday we had a very exciting (and yummy) Chinese lesson with Miss Wenting. The Cooper and Mattingley room came together on Monday morning to make dumplings. We spoke about the ingredients that are used when making dumplings and each added our own to the steamer to cook.

What a great day the we all had on Tuesday for Grandies day. The children were buzzing with excitement to sing our songs for the performance and to show their grandparents around our ELC. Thank you to all of the Grandies that came along to see our ELC and spend time with the Cooper children.

We have been making amazing structures out of the large wooden blocks in the Cooper room. The children used amazing communication and collaboration skills to negotiate where each of the blocks would go depending on what they were creating. On Thursday the children even made the house that Mr and Mrs Bird made their nest in the story “The Best Nest”. To follow on with the children’s keen interest in birds and nests we will be creating a large whole class nest in the Cooper room.

On Thursday something amazing happened in the Cooper room… Our class caterpillar has emerged from its chrysalis as a beautiful butterfly! In the afternoon the Cooper room went to a garden patch outside yard where there are colourful flowers growing and released our butterfly.

We hope that you have a lovely weekend.

Love Miss Gilbert and Mr Richards
