Mead

Dear Mead Room families and friends,

What a week of investigation!

We have combined two of our inquiries together – our Recycling inquiry and our Water inquiry.
We began to think about the impact of rubbish on our waterways, which we touched upon last term, but the children are beginning to think much deeper about the consequences.  We are collecting ‘soft plastics’ as we noticed that a lot of wrappers end up in the gutters along the road, and in turn may go to creeks and waterways.  By collecting these types of plastics the children reflected upon the ramifications:
Jaden - we can help the world
Ethan - and clean the world
Ethan and Jaden - and have clean water so it will be nice for the crocodiles
Alex - the turtles
Ethan - the tadpoles
Hudson, Haris and William R - the fish
Cooper, Zed and Patrick - the sharks
Tom T and Sienna - the whales
James, Oliwer and Yifan - the crocodiles
Alana and Paige - the ducks
Danica - the seahorses
Liliana - the mermaids
Jaden - and for people to drink
Mikayla - for people to swim in.

We engaged in a quick spot of measuring using the gigantic kangaroo paws in the car park, we quietly visited the chapel and began to consider Christmas, we shared our knowledge of paper making with the Mattingley Room, and practiced our audience and performing skills in Anzac Hall as we prepare for our Nativity concert next week!

Happy Birthday to William Raeside who is turning 4!

Enjoy your weekend!
