Edgerley

Dear Edgerley parents,

This week we particularly enjoyed the opportunity to talk about spooky Halloween things and delighted in coming up with scary Halloween characters in our playdough. We decided to keep them and let them dry. Come and have a look at our ghouls and goblins!

We continued our inquiry into the makeup of the solar system and enjoyed watching a Youtube clip that told us more about the planets we were creating. You can watch it with your child at home by clicking on this link.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZ-qLUIj_A0 . Unfortunately our planets that we were papier macheing popped over the weekend so we have come up with another plan to stop our globe of the earth being so lonely. Keep your eyes peeled for a brand new solar system, Edgerley style.

Our hospital continues to flourish. Thankyou to all the families that have made contributions. We have begun to think, not only about what is inside our bodies, but also about how we can prevent germs getting inside. We will continue to add to our list of ways to keep our bodies healthy.

We were excited to add timers to our clock collection this week and have enjoyed watching the different coloured sands race each other. It took us a while to work out what to call them, with Sebastien initially suggesting we call them time capsules. Gradually we refined our name and now know they’re timers.  We have also begun to work out what a clock face looks like at some of our important times in the day. Did you know that when we have lunch one hand points straight up while the other one points straight down?

Our interest in bugs is slowly smouldering, if you find any interesting specimens that you can safely collect we would love to see them.

We have begun to encourage the children to return their hats to the hooks in their lockers and we would love it if you could help us out by returning your child’s hat to their hook before you leave at the end of the day.

Have a lovely weekend
Mel, Emma, Cris and Satinder
