Chapple

As part of our work in emerging literacy we looked at a book called “I don’t believe in dragons!” One of the pages was without words. To develop the important pre reading skill of predicting text, we copied the page and thought about what the characters might be saying. The children had some great suggestions. Check them out on the wall. This is a great technique you can practise at home when reading to your children or even watching a film. “What do you think will happen next?” “Why does that person think that?” “What do you think he will say?” “How does he feel?”

“The Last Tree in the City” resulted in a great collective piece of art which we have displayed in the classroom. Can you find the last tree?

In week 10 on Tuesday 5/4 and Wednesday 6/4 we will be conducting Parent Teacher interviews. The booking in sheet is in the classroom on top of the lockers, but if you know these dates are inconvenient, please contact us as we will be looking to conduct some of the interviews before this date. Louise will be contacting the parents of her focus children to do interviews on a Friday.
