Mead

What a whirlwind of a week we have had in the Mead Room.

This week we have been making Gingerbread Men – Numeracy, Literacy and Science skills in abundance!!  We followed a recipe and instructions, measuring out, weighing, stirring and mixing.  The children were able to explore and observe the changing state of materials and marvel as the bowl of unrelated ingredients came together to form a sticky then smooth and squishy ball of dough!  The cooking process added another change altogether!

On Tuesday afternoon the children explored light and shadow.  They observed their shadows in the outdoor environment, moving their bodies to experiment where the best shadows could be created.

Our Christmas inquiry for Show and Share is coming to a close and has revealed beautiful family traditions, fun times and the magic of this special time of year.
Scarlet – My Daddy put the star up on the Christmas tree. My Mummy and Daddy put some fairies up to make it beautiful, they change colours. Nanna comes to my home, Mummy’s mum.
Lucas – I get very excited when I put decorations on the Christmas tree, because Christmas is my favourite day! We have Christmas breakfast, not a normal breakfast.
Spencer – The men came and the star pointed the way.  I went to Canada.  My Dad and Mum went skiing and we meet at the bottom and we throw snowballs.  I want to go back again.

We hope you all enjoyed the Nativity performance!
Happy Birthday to Benjamin Gavin – you are now 4!

Happy weekend fun to you all!
