Langley Room

Dear Langley family and friends,

What a busy week we have had in the Langley room. Inside we have enjoyed watching our silk worms make cocoons, some of us have also drawn silk worms on paper and practised our cutting skills, cutting leaves and then painting silk worms onto them.

We have also been practising our fine motor skills by making different vehicles with the Mobilo, cooking up a storm in our restaurant and matching different shapes onto outlines.

We have taken advantage of this beautiful weather this week. Outside we have had fun driving cars down long cardboard tubes and watching where they come out, catching and blowing bubbles and lots of water play but one of our highlights would have to be a walk to the oval at the big school.
Whilst there we did some running races and used up some of our energy running to where Miss Emily and Miss Kerry were standing. We were also lucky enough to see Mr Ty drive a tractor up onto the oval. We were all so eager to have a closer look that we went to investigate.
"It has lights," David noticed as we got closer to the tractor
"What's that?" Angelina asked pointing to the tractor
"Its a big scoop," Mr Ty explained to the children
"What are you doing?" Miss Kerry asked Mr Ty
"picking up big logs from behind the boarding house," Mr Ty told us
"wheel, little one," David said pointing to the different sized wheels
Mr Ty then got into the tractor started it up and showed us how the scoop can move up and down
"It's smoke," Angelina said pointing to the smoke coming from the tractor
"Can you do it again Mr Ty?" Lachlan asked
Mr Ty explained some of the parts of the tractor before going back to work. We then made our way back to the ELC.

We have all been doing a fantastic job practising our songs for the Nativity. We are getting really good and hope you will all be there to see us perform.
