Dear
Mead Room families,
We have continued to investigate the bones in the human body this week. After
studying X-rays on the light table, we decided to make our very own x-rays! We
traced our hands on black paper and glued on cotton buds to represent the bones
in our hands.
Vivienne - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5! Five fingers!
Jack - What are these? Are they our bones?
Ronnie - They're phalanges!
Did you know, the bones in our fingers are called "phalanges"?
Monday 5th of June is World Environment Day, our focus is sustainability. This
week we have been speaking about recycling and how we recycle in the ELC, as
well as at home. Along with the Mattingley class, we are conducting a science
experiment to see what does and doesn't break down in our environment. We have
filled 6 jars with dirt and added organic and inorganic items such as
sandwiches, food scraps, leaves, paper towel rolls, glad wrap and alfoil. Over
the week we have been watching what happens inside our jars. We can't wait to
see the final result and what happens inside our jars.
Scout - Dirty nappies go in the rubbish!
Jack - Daddy puts the bins out at my house.
Teddy - Paper and cans go in the recycling, my green bins are full of weeds!
Anwen - Yucky things go in the bin.
Have a great weekend,
Miss Boler
