Dear
Edgerley parents,
We
have had another busy week with children using symbols to add two numbers
together. We have talked a lot about how symbols can help communities work
together, reminding people what to do and what not to do. We also discovered
that symbols can be used to make people belong. We enjoyed looking at the
symbols of our favourite football clubs. We have begun to create some symbols
in our class to help us work together. We have begun to hang our self portraits
and we are going to make a ‘no touching’ sign for them, just like in the art
gallery!
A symbol is a little message – Archie
A
symbol is a picture that makes a symbol of something – Charlie P
A
symbol is something for people to do stuff. It tells you what to do and what
not to do – Rory
A
symbol is something that’s on stuff. Sometimes it’s on people’s shirts and the
people do that job – Zali
A
symbol is something that to tell you – Lewis
A
symbol is something what shows you something what to do and it’s also a sign –
Henry
A
symbol is something that’s a bull on a car, that’s what my Mum’s got on her car
– Ollie
A
symbol is something when someone shows people what to do – Hamish
A
symbol is something like it means the chair lift is coming – Aston
We
continued to look at habitats and created our own mini jungle, unfortunately
some small humans came in on Wednesday evening and knocked down some of our
trees…I wonder how we fix that in real life?
We
are on the lookout for wooden curtain rings and fairy skirts or tulle skirts
for a special disco PE lesson at the end of the term. If you have any that you
don’t need any more we would love to have them.
Have
a lovely weekend
Mel,
Cris and Emma
