Dear Families and friends,
This week in the Angwin room we have been continuing
our mark making journey. Some of the children have worked together to make rockets. We have studied images from space shuttles looking at all the controls
it takes to make a rocket work. We’ve shared stories about the first moon
landing and the children have added different details to the rockets.
Our block building projects have continued to develop
in complexity and size as the room has transformed into an architect's paradise!
The children have been exploring how to make their models stable and lots of
roads and ramps have become parts of their structures.
On Monday the children enjoyed a session about
recycling with a visitor from KESAB. It was a fantastic way to reflect upon our
practices of sustainability in the centre and work out what more we can do. Mrs
Rocca took this further with our class discussing the effects of pollution, to
our natural species, in particular birds.
The children have been working on creating different
symbols, to make their own names, to record numbers and to add to their rocket
design with recording a countdown from 10!
So much wonderful authentic and valuable learning that
reflects the learning journey of the children in our class.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Kind regards,
Pip and Coney
