Dear Chapple Families and Friends
Our numeracy skills continue to develop with the dice
game. The children had to recognise the number on the dice and then place the
same number of parts of their body in contact with the floor. We have some very
creative and numerate children.
The children are continuing to investigate push and pull
and are beginning to spot the forces at work independently.
The children put their safe skills to work when James had
an “accident” on the bike outside. His acting skills are well advanced and many
children joined in the role play. Liliana phoned for an ambulance and luckily
with such swift and helpful intervention James survived to ride again.
We made sea water during an experiment and we are trying
to work out how we can turn it into drinking water. It was a great opportunity to
build on the children’s understanding of opaque and transparent from the Mead
Room.
We have also been developing our skills with our green screen
and went to Purple Planet and under the sea!
Alex showed the other children the photo of him “underwater"
and they were amazed. Alex went on to tell the children about his adventure.
Alex: There was a crocodile, hippo and a shark in the
water. I dived in, a big jump. Cold water, hot a little bit. I took a deep
breath.
Oliwer: He is not wearing swimmers!
Alex: I trick you!
Sienna: Is that real?
Alex: I swim underwater. I went in a tunnel.
The children were still unsure about whether Alex was
underwater or not!
