Dear Mattingley Families and Friends,
We have had a wonderful week together in
the Mattingley classroom enjoying the beautiful sunshine. We have tried to
spend as much time as possible in the outdoor learning environment soaking in
the much anticipated vitamin D.
As we have been enjoying the sunshine we have
noticed that we have many master chefs in the making among us. There has
been lots of negotiating with sand kitchen space and the utensils to create some
wonderful dishes. There has also been the odd family recipe secret shared among friends. Through their imaginary play in the sand kitchen the children
have the opportunity to discover, create, improvise and imagine. In their
play they test out ideas, challenge each other’s thinking and build new
understandings. Their play provides a supportive environment where they
could ask questions, solve problems and engage in critical thinking.

Mrs Rocca and Mrs Mason aren't going to
have to cook dinner this week after all the glorious food we have been tasting
and eating this week. Maybe if you are lucky enough you just might get
breakfast in bed cooked for you this weekend. Just watch out for the
sand....
