Wilkins

Dear Wilkins Families,

What another wonderful week we have had in the Wilkins room.

This week we have been busy exploring our new set up environment. We have been discussing different shapes and where we might see these different shapes in our classroom. We have also been matching some smaller shapes to the shapes we see on the floor.  Go for a shape hunt in your own home and see what shapes are all around us.

We have also been exploring different ways of creating towers. We have introduced some smaller wooden blocks for the Wilkins children to build and create their own interpretation of a tower.

Our Wilkins friends have also turned into mechanics this week. We have been busy pulling screws out of our cars and busy fixing the funny sounds coming from them. Children are curious and enthusiastic participants in their learning.

The end of the week we had a visit from a Fringe act called ‘Open’.  It was a children’s puppet show.  It was fabulous fun.  The children were all so involved in the show.
