Angwin

Dear Families and friends,

The Angwin Room has been a hive of activity as we have continued to explore the children’s interests and follow up on inquiries that we have begun as a class. The children have worked hard to come together and decide on our essential agreement, looking at the best ways we can function as a team, to help us learn, keep safe and to be happy!

We have used our zucchini gift to make a wonderful chocolate zucchini cake, creating our own book, showing the process followed. The children have been keenly watching our pumpkins grow in the veggie patch and so next week, we have one ready to make pumpkin scones… with help from Miss Silvia in the kitchen.

There has been continued interest in the block corner as the children have been exploring making models which they can fit inside! The most exciting part is when they pop out from in the model!!

We have continued to explore printing, immersing ourselves in the cause and effects of marble printing. There has been great excitement to see the way the art work evolves.

The class is starting to explore the way colours can be restful and peaceful. As a provocation we have had some Monet waterlily paintings on the easels and watercolours that inspire us with blues, greens and purples. The children have been loving these different colours. We are working towards making our own peaceful pillows with spray bottle painting material.

Our weekly sessions to the gym are always popular as the children explore physical skills of tennis, big ball catching, throwing and kicking as well as moving their bodies through space in the ever changing obstacle course.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Kind regards,
Pip and Liana
