Mattingley

Dear Mattingley Room families and friends,

This week in the Mattingley Room we have further explored Feelings and Emotions.  We have a space in our learning environment where the children can create and talk through some of the emotions that they have experienced or noticed in others.

Incorporating the ‘Keeping Safe Child Protection Curriculum’, we are having conversations to discuss the idea that all feelings are valid, and role playing strategies to support those who are feeling sad.

We are demonstrating great care and responsibility for our outdoor environment.  The children were galvanised into action when they noticed the strawberry plants were wilting so  buckets, and copious amounts of water were heaved over to the veggie patch. Great teamwork too.

We have been inspired by the Adelaide 500 to engage in vehicular experiences.  Process art with cars to race through the paint, the song “Highway Number 1” (which needs no excuse to sing as it is a favourite in the Mattingley Room!), and human car races in our outdoor environment, ‘Ready, Set, Go!’ two wheeled vehicles in the Workshop got in on the act as well.

Take care of each other.
From Melissa and Georgia
