Edgerley

Dear Edgerley families and friends,

Welcome to the second week of the spring program!

During this week we have taken the opportunity to learn some new Yoga poses, Chaturanga, Standing Forward Bend and Forward Bend. The various Yoga postures we have practiced over the term we can now confidently put together to flow into the ‘Sun Salutation A’ sequence from the ‘Autonomy of Fitness Book - Yoga’. Sun Salutation comprises of 14 Yoga postures that help relax the system, mind and body, it’s meditative and improves the functions of the whole body.

We went for a visit to the Rainbow playground and some of the children found a ‘family’ of snails, the mummy, the daddy and the baby. They were intrigued and showed empathy towards keeping the ‘family’ safe and ensuring they have ample food and water. As the sun was shining we took advantage of it and went for a nature walk to the secret garden and then we ventured onto the tennis court to play some group games and free play.

We had an adorable bundle of joy Reuben visit the Edgerley class. Reuben is Zara’s new puppy! Zara was so proud and excited to tell us that Reuben sits down very well when asked to and shakes hands. Zara continued to ask the children to line up if they wanted a pat to encourage turn taking.
Rory – Reuben has lots of bones and muscles. The end of it is very flat and skinny and that’s his tail. He shakes hands! Look at his ribs and his nails are very sharp.
Ollie – He is so soft!
Zara – Line up in a straight line for a pat.
Sophia – Puppy very soft.

We hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend. See you all next week for the start of a new and exciting Term 4.
