Wilkins

Dear Wilkins friends and families,

This term seems to be flying and we can't believe that we have just finished week 7! The Wilkins class have had a lovely week and it all started with making sushi on Monday. One of our class mates Max has a weekly tradition which he shares with his family and they enjoy sushi on Thursdays. Miss Ellen thought it would be a nice idea to share this tradition in our class room and also show Max and his Wilkins friends how sushi is made. The sushi was delicious and enjoyed by all!

This week we have also been following a very exciting journey that has been occurring in the Cooper room. Miss Gilbert and her class have hatched 9 beautiful baby chicks. As we have been exploring lifecycles in the Wilkins class with butterflies and frogs the children had a great understanding of what was happening;
Leonardo: 'They came from the eggs'
Isla: They will turn into big chickens'
Elsie: 'There are 9 babies'
Anwen: 'They are the baby chickens'
We are very lucky to be able to share these experiences with the children and look forward to visiting the chicks again.

On Wednesday we had our Movie Dress up day! The children all looked wonderful and were engaged in lots of various dramatic play experiences in their costumes. A big thank you to all the parents who put so much effort in.

This week we welcomed Renee into our class and the children have all enjoyed her enthusiasm and great ideas. We look forward to working with her.

Have a fantastic weekend and we will see you in week 8
