Cooper

Dear Cooper Room Family and Friends,
During our first week of the Winter Program the Cooper Class have been keeping busy engaging in a variety of different experiences as well as enjoying some down time. We started off the week at the Red Centre where the children played with hula hoops, balls, bean bags and had the choice to participate in running races. We revisited the Red Centre at the end of the week so the children could participate and engage in some more energetic physical play combining gross and fine motor movement patterns.

To provide the children with some down time we had daily sessions of mediation and relaxation. To commence the session we sit with our legs crossed and take three deep cleansing breaths to focus and still the mind.  We continue with body stretches to calm and relax the body in preparation for a short relaxation in the yoga corpse pose.
Mr Ty supported the children in making their very own favourite coloured kite so we took the opportunity to fly them outside in the afternoon. It was a load of fun!

The Cooper children are quite creative and artistic they enjoy art related experiences so we decided to source blocks in different shapes and sizes and cover them in bubble wrap to do bubble wrap painting. Other children chose to paint with rollers and sponges – so messy but great fun!
Towards the end of the week we went on a nature walk and whilst on our journey we explored the school grounds and ended up at the Rainbow Playground for a play. Before we ventured out on our walk we brainstormed the sorts of things we might see….

A flower – Andrei
A caterpillar – David

A butterfly – Sylas
A rainbow – Oscar

A spider web and spider – Anay
A snake – Josh

Week one is over…Only two more weeks with these wonderful Cooper children!
Happy Weekend!

With Love,
Miss C, Miss Gray and Mr Ty.
