Mattingley

Dear Mattingley families and friends,
We cannot believe that we are at the end of Term 2 already! Where has the time gone? We have been very busy investigating and exploring with colours and having a wonderful time learning together. Next term our Unit of Inquiry will be ‘Marvellous Machines’ focusing on the central idea, “Machines make things easier”.

On Thursday this week we were lucky to have Ashvin’s Mummy, Kate come in for the afternoon to work on a special project with us. She had enough pairs of shoes for everyone and lots of colourful textures to design and create some wonderful new shoes. Many of the children loved them so much that they wore them to school on Friday. We would like to say a big thank you to Kate for sharing her time with us and organising this wonderful experience. We all had a lot of fun.

If you feel that you have a skill or something to share with the class, even to read a favourite story with us, we would love to welcome you into our class to be a part of our learning at ELC.

Just a quick reminder for the Winter program
As our colour Unit of Inquiry comes to an end, we thought it would be extra fun for the children to come dressed in their casual clothes for a week. Please see the list of what colour clothes to wear each day. Please remember we will still have messy activities available so bring suitable clothes as they may get marks on.

Monday 29th June – Please come dressed in rainbow clothes (such as yellow top, blue pants and red shoes)
Tuesday 30th June – Please come dressed in predominately red clothes

Wednesday 1st July - Please come dressed in predominately blue clothes

Thursday 2nd July - Please come dressed in predominately yellow clothes
Friday 3rd July - Please come dressed in rainbow clothes (such as yellow top, blue pants and red shoes)

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend,

Kimberley and Coral
