Mattingley

Dear Mattingley families and friends,
We have had a fantastic time this week exploring and deconstructing Antonio’s fax machine and Liam’s robotic vacuum cleaner.  Through our exploration we found many different parts to the machines and were able to work out how they helped make it work.

Mum used it to ring- Antonio
This is a screw driver. You use it to do this (showing us how to unscrew one of the screws) - William G

When we take the screws the things come out- Sophie

It got springs in it- Harrison

The rollers push paper- Harry H

The wires go together that make it roll the paper- Wolf
The wheels drives it (vacuum cleaner) you hammer them in with a hammer and you screw them in to hold things together. This bit here collects the dirt. If it didn’t then the house will be dirty- Liam

These are the wheels that make it go- Teddy
We look forward to continuing our learning journey next week by creating our own Marvellous Machines using all the boxes that our families have been bringing in over the last two weeks.
We will use what we have learnt from deconstructing machines to work out what parts to make for our box construction machines. If you still have any boxes at home we would love you to keep bringing them in. We can never have enough boxes.
Next week’s show and tell topic is: A machine that I use at home to make my life easier
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Kimberley Mason & Coral Bowden
