Dear families and friends,
We had a very warm start to the week this week and
enjoyed cooling down with a range of water play activities including exploring
sinking and floating, boat play and running through the sprinkler! Children can
get very wet and messy while they are here, so please make sure you are sending
several changes of named clothes each day please.
Our little scientists have
continued to help care for and observe the changes in our classroom creatures.
We have been monitoring the growth of our little frog and excitedly watched him
swimming around in the water this week as well as documenting the changes in
our silkworms by drawing our observations.

Riley - Lot tocoons (cocoons)
Sophie - Dat moff (moth)
Alfie - Dis one silk. Dat egg worm
We have been developing our fine motor skills using
scissors with play dough and will extend on this further in the coming weeks
using different materials to cut. In addition to this fine motor experience, we
have been threading large beads on to sticks, matching colours and creating
patterns.
Our classroom also turned into a dance party on Thursday, inspired by
Weston’s specky break dancing moves!
We have extended our exploration of
healthy and sometimes foods in our shop play this week, role playing the
familiar scene of the supermarket. This has also required children to extend
and use their turn taking, sharing and negotiating skills.
Best wishes for the weekend, enjoy the Christmas Pageant
if you are planning on going!
