Dear Mead Room families and friends,
The children are continuing to observe
the ever changing stages of our Monarch caterpillars.
We were transfixed on Thursday morning
as we had noticed a chrysalis had become transparent, showing us the beautiful orange
and black wings enclosed. We thought we
would miss it emerging, as it always
happens so quickly but…… we witnessed it!!
Miss Boler is a bit tech savvy and she
managed to capture a time-lapse film.
From Caterpillar to Butterfly - so beautiful!
Harvey – “Sometimes they hatch. Sometimes they make a little hole (in the
chrysalis). Sometimes they do poo’s (the caterpillars). They munch and they
munch and they munch. Their poo’s are
green ‘cos they eat green leaves.”
Hamish M – “I draw a caterpillar. On his head, black sticks. He turns into a butterfly.”
During our Morning Meetings this week we
have discussed how we are the same, and different.
Harry – We all have hair
Isla
D-G- We all have bodies
Anwen – Hands and bones
Alfie – Muscles and knees!
Leonardo – Legs
Charlie – Shoes!
And our differences……

We want to delve deeper into how we are
the same, and how we are all unique in response to our Harmony Day inquiry.
We thoroughly revelled in our final
Dancify experience. Thankyou to all the
parents who were able to attend.. we know how much fun YOU had!! The children have immersed themselves in this
dance program and have engaged in fantastic lessons that have supported the
development of flexibility, fitness, fundamental movement and body awareness!
Have a terrific weekend.
