Dancify
came to an end this week and we finished off with our showcase. It always is
great fun to watch the children participate with great enthusiasm.
We
have continued our work on number recognition and the children have worked very
hard matching counters to numbers.
Our
new tweezer game has proved very popular and been great in helping to develop
the children's fine motor skills. It has also been an opportunity to discuss
caring for our things and looking after our property.
We
also had great fun role playing Pig the Pug. This is a very funny book which
talks about sharing and how it relates to friendship. We also discussed how we
treat our friends and having a best friend doesn’t mean we can’t play with
anyone else or that we belong to that person. Mr Charlwood said Liliana was his
best friend and no one was allowed to play with her accept him.
Mikayla:
Pig the Pug must share his toys. Mr Charlwood you were like Pig the Pug. You
didn’t want to share Liliana.
Liliana:
I can play with anyone. We are all friends.
We
are lucky enough to have a caterpillar in our room and we have done some great
observational drawings of it. I wonder what will happen to it next?
We
have also been looking at who and what keeps us safe. We no sooner had turned
the role play into emergency services when a real fire engine turned up. Jonas
and Tom did a great job of stopping traffic and the fire fighters were very
kind and let us sit on the front of the engine.
Harmony
Day is next week - 22nd March- The children are welcome to wear orange if they
wish.
