The
term is really flying by and it is amazing to see how much the children are
growing and learning already. They
are becoming a lot more independent and able to take risks and solve problems.
It really helps if the children’s clothes are clearly labelled. They do have a
habit of removing jumpers and hats and leaving them around. This is part of
growing up and hopefully they learn that when they need them again, it really
makes it easier if they have put them in their locker or basket. They
do not always get it right, but unfortunately it is an important part of
independence to misplace things and deal with the consequences: Having to
search for them or do without and miss out. They generally turn up.
Numeracy
countdown has continued and we have lots of great mathematicians. We have been
encouraging them to use the counting fingers. While
you are out and about, get them to look for numbers in their environment. We
have been using the start of Autumn to work on our sorting and classification.
We
have been developing on our fine motor skills with play dough and trying to
master those tricky scissors!
We
are trialling new sound system which has been a sources of great fun for the
children.
Have
a great long weekend
