Mattingley

Dear Mattingley Families and Friends,

What an amazing week we have had this week. Mrs Cooper has kindly left us with two Spiny Leaf insects to look after. With Mrs Rocca's help we have made them a safe home in a class vase so we can have a closer look. Some of our courageous  friends took an even closer look at them by holding them in their hands. From their observations we found that they have 6 very sticky legs that like to cling on and climb - especially our friends bodies in the classroom.

He's on my arm. He feels soft- Edie
He's playing with my eyelash- Lochlann
Incey wincey spider- Lilah
I'm brave to touch him- Laila
He's crawling everywhere- Walter
I will rescue them if they come out of their home- Felix

We look forward to watching them grow over the next few months. Please feel free to have a closer look when you come into our classroom. They are fascinating to watch.

What an amazing week we have had celebrating Book Week. On Tuesday Mr Coleman came down from the Library to share some of his favourite books with us. On Thursday we took part in a reading flash mob, making our way over to the top oval in the morning, sharing 'Wombat stew', which is one of our very favourites.

On Friday we had so many wonderful characters come to ELC, we couldn't believe our eyes. It was so wonderful to see the children's excitement and wonder as they talked about who they were dressed up as and why they loved the book that their character came from. We had lots of fun showing off our wonderful costumes in the parade and playing together in our outdoor learning environment. We would like to say a big thank you to all our families that put together such fantastic costumes. Everyone looked fabulous.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Mrs Kimberley Mason and Mrs Coney Rocca
