Dear Chapple Families
Olympic fever has struck the Chapple room. We have had great
fun making our torches and Olympic rings. They have been a great test for our
fine motor skills. We loved watching the highlights of the Opening Ceremony and
decided to make our own dance.
Hannah: Big dance with fireworks.
Why do the dance?
Lachlan: Because they like to do it, some people copy
people.
Jasper: You need music.
Ned: If they don’t have music, how can you dance?
Zoe: Listen to music and get with the music.
Hugo: Look like something you have done before.
The children volunteered to make different parts of the
dance. They named them to make them easier to remember and put them together.
Lachlan: The triangle dance.
Hugo: The hip moving.
Christopher: The kick look.
Louis: Upside down.
Zoe: They fall down.
The children had great fun performing and were eager to try
this again.
We have also been developing our numeracy skills with our
compass point game and our Olympic Medal table made with real children.
As we gear up to starting school, I am beginning to get
parents ask me about what school children are going to, so they can arrange
play dates etc. If you could let us know where they are heading that would be
great. mcharlwood@staff.pac.edu.au
