Dear Families
and Friends,
Our week in
Angwin has been rich in deep investigations driven by the children’s
interests….
We have been
creating volcanoes from clay and wire… over the next few weeks we are hoping to
paint and decorate them with amazing lava!
Our class has
been watching out for signs of spring as we walk around our college. Joshua
found some buds on our fruit trees in the garden… the pink prunus is full of
bees and perfect pink buds.. we have been watching these change as the week has
continued!
Sidney and
Romesh were brave and had a try with the spiny leaf insects climbing on their
hands…
Romesh: It tickles me!
Sidney: It feels quite sticky!
Our dentist
surgery has been busy with lots of amazing mark making in reception, lots of
injections and even a few teeth extractions!
Our show and
tell for this week was rich with lots of different things that start with “e”
from an electric earth globe to an electromagnetic toy, to a beautiful clay
bird with eggs and even Horton the elephant who laid an egg! Each of the
children are working to co-construct their understandings about how sounds work
in a meaningful and memorable way for them.
Please don’t
forget that our Book Week Parade is next Friday… ask the children who they
would like to come dressed as and bring their book along too!
Have a
wonderful weekend making memories together,
Pip and Wenting
