Dear Edgerley parents,
What a whirlwind of a week it has been this week. We have
been very busy not only continuing on with our investigations, but also
celebrating Book Week.
We transplanted our seedlings to soil this week and
are watching to see if the soil will give them enough nutrients to continue to
grow. It was quite an operation as we all crowded round on the mat to see them
moved over. Mrs Kaur was the unlucky staff member who had to glove up and
separate all the smelly seedlings from each other. We were equally thrilled and
disgusted to discover that they had become so pongy and it was the source of
much hilarity!
We wondered if soon we may have grown some carrots and celery
for Miss Kim to use in the kitchen!
We began to sort all the colours we have created using paper
plates and have displayed them on our main board.
“It’s a windmill!! We made a windmill!!!” exclaimed Henry
“You do yellow and red for orange so put them in there”
suggested Zali
“We no grey!” wondered Sophia, pondering where our
grey plates should go
“I like the pink the best, bright pink” said Isla
“Let’s write down all the things about orange and we can do
it on a orange piece of paper!” suggested Nicholas Y
We were so lucky to have Ms Garland come and read to us as a
guest reader this week and we also enjoyed joining the prep school students in
the sun for the reading flash mob. But our highlight was our dress up parade
where we boogied away with the rest of the ELC. What fun.
Love Mel, Emma, Cris and Satin
