Dear Wilkins friends and family,
We hope you all had a lovely long weekend! We have been hearing
lots of wonderful stories about family trips away, special excursions and
the exciting adventures the children got up to.
Throughout the second week of our holiday period, Wilkins and
Langley have been busily trying to re arrange our outdoor spaces. The Langley
girls had a wonderful idea about creating a cubby house which would be utilised
as a quieter space for the children to sit and read or play together in smaller
groups. This has already seen to be a wonderful addition to our yard as we have
been watching friendships flourish and children applying their skills to caring
for their home.
Gradually the Wilkins and Langley girls have been adding greenery,
specifically herbs in order to further develop the children's
senses (sight, taste and touch recognition). Miss Em has brought in some
lovely planter boxes which have been placed around our cubby house,
the children thoroughly enjoyed helping Em. The children have been showing
such enthusiasm in helping their teachers and peers care for our
environment. This week the children have also been engaging in outdoor large
block play. They have been constructing all kinds of shapes and spaces and
sharing their thoughts ideas and imaginations.
We would like to remind you all about our Princess Tea Party on
the 9th of May. This is a great experience for the children to show
all of our special Wilkins mums how much they mean to them. Please return
your RSVP's as soon as possible and we look forward to seeing you then!
